The first step is choosing the cups you need. We will work with you to determine product specifics and pricing. Then you will move to the creative process. If you don’t have existing artwork, don’t sweat it — we can work together to create a custom logo or design. Once you’ve approved the design, we will create the plates, send the job to the manufacturing queue, and in a few weeks, your order will be ready to ship.

Placing Your Order

What is the consultation process like?
Overall, this is one of our favorite steps! We get to work with our clients to determine what they need and how we can help them get it.
Our highly trained in-house artists can take your complete design and prep it for print, create a design around your art or logo, or develop something completely new to take your brand to the next level. Once the artwork is finalized, we will create your printing plates and schedule manufacturing. Typically, the lead time from proof approval to order and distribution can be completed in 8 to 10 weeks.

Are creative services at Morrison really free?
One bonus from working with Morrison is that we can provide our creative services at no additional cost to you, depending on order size! However, if it’s a matter of rebuilding your logo to be in the correct file type, there will be a fee. Explore our question on additional fees below.

What files do I need to provide you?
We prefer vector format to accommodate our lossless logo applications (AI, EPS, SVG, or vector based PDF). We can redraw your logo in this format for a small creative fee if you don’t have it.

Do you charge per revision to my design?
If artwork needs to be created from scratch or redrawn, there is a Creative Fee of $75 per hour. Plate Charges are added to the initial order for any new artwork on all orders of 25,000 and below.

What if I don’t have my artwork’s digital files?
If you don’t have your artwork, our team of designers can rebuild your artwork in our preferred file format. We can also help design art from scratch if you’ve never had art.

Do you take purchase orders? My financial team requires them.
Yes, Morrison does accept purchase orders.

How else do you take payment? Do you have processing fees on certain payment types?
Morrison accepts checks, ACH bank transfers, and credit card payments. There is a 3% processing fee for credit card transactions of $2,500+.

Can I include barcodes (UPC codes) or QR codes on my design?
Yes! Certain specifications need to happen for the design to work.
For UPC codes:
- Prints at 90°due to direction of ink application
- Requires white ink bounding box on clear cups
- 1” x 2” minimum size
For QR codes:
- Requires white ink bounding box on clear cups
- 1’ x 1” minimum size

What happens after I give my approval to the cup design?
We create printing plates of your design. Thankfully, these plates can be used repeatedly, making reprinting much easier.

How long does it take?
Depending upon current lead times, a reasonable estimate of time from the deal being signed to your customer receiving their cups is approximately 10-12 weeks. While various factors might come into play, a reasonable estimate of time from the beginning (contracts signed) to the end (customer receiving their cups) is about 10-12 weeks.

What types of printing does Morrison utilize?
The Morrison team uses two basic types of printing to print on custom cups. This process is as follows:
Offset Printing (for Plastic and Foam cups)
A printing technique where the inked artwork is transferred from a plate to a blanket then onto the cup. Pantone colors are used to produce a multi ‘spot’ color print. Spot colors are not overprinted but may be printed in dot screens to lighten their appearance. All plastic and foam cups are offset printed at Morrison.
Process Printing (for Paper Cups)
A printing technique where artwork is produced by blending cyan, magenta, yellow and black inks (CMYK). Although vector art is preferred, this is the only method to produce rastered graphics. Paper cups are the only process printed cups at Morrison.

Does cup size or substrate type affect printing process duration?
Yes, both size and substrate type can impact timelines.

Do certain kinds of designs take longer than others to print?
Most designs print at the same rate of speed regardless of detail. However, our creative team will need to interpret the design before we begin production of the printing plates. If the supplied design is too complicated or detailed to print clearly, we’ll need to revise your art. That art will be presented to you for your approval before production begins.

How does shipping work with Morrison?
Another thing that sets Morrison Cup Solutions apart from the rest of our industry is our wide range of flexible shipping choices. We can do nationwide distribution that includes parcel, less-than-truckload freight, and truckload freight.

How long does shipping take?
The shipment of an order varies depending on transit time and the mode of transportation (Truckload, LTL, or Ground)

Do you provide tracking information for my shipment?
Yes, tracking information is made available upon request.

What happens when I need more cups, and who do I contact?
Your Morrison Account Specialist is always happy to assist you with your reorders at any time.

How far ahead do I need to reorder cups?
Reorders should be placed keeping the lead time of the specific substrate in mind. Rush orders cost extra and are highly dependent on the current production schedule. It’s strongly encouraged to reorder or have your distributor reorder before your supply of cups is too low.

Can I reorder online?
At this time, custom-printed products cannot be ordered online. Please contact your Morrison Account Specialist for your reorders.
