Enterprise Applications & Data Manager
Position Summary
The Enterprise Applications & Data Manager reports to the Chief Operating and Financial Officer and is a hands-on IT expert responsible for directly developing, building, and managing our internal technology systems. This individual will be deeply involved in day-to-day IT operations, including data management, application development, and business analytics, while coordinating infrastructure operations with our third-party IT provider. The role requires a technical expert who thrives in an individual contributor capacity, capable of collaborating across departments to support business goals and drive digital transformation.

With decades of experience and a commitment to excellence, we are seeking an Enterprise Applications & Data Manager to lead and strengthen our IT operations. This role is critical in driving technology strategy and development, pivotal in optimizing enterprise systems, driving data-informed decision-making, and supporting digital transformation across departments. Position Duties and Responsibilities
The Enterprise Applications & Data Manager will directly manage and build the organization’s IT systems, applications, and infrastructure, ensuring a reliable, efficient, and collaborative digital workplace. This is a highly technical, individual contributor role that requires active participation in all aspects of IT development and operations.
Data Management & Governance
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise data architecture and governance frameworks
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, security, and accessibility across departments
- Manage SQL Server environments, backups, access control, and monitoring
- Develop and enforce data policies, standards, and procedures
Data Architecture & ETL
- Integrate ERP, CRM, and other systems into a centralized relational data warehouse
- Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines using SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and Python
- Implement data validation, auditing, alerting, and pipeline health dashboards
- Standardize naming conventions, environments, and folder structures
Business Analytics
- Develop and maintain Power BI data models, dashboards, reports, and paginated deliverables
- Conduct analytics discovery sessions to define KPIs and business drivers
- Identify opportunities for process automation and optimization
- Provide training, documentation, and support to improve data literacy
Application Development
- Lead full application lifecycle management: design, development, testing, deployment, and support
- Build and maintain internal applications using Power Apps, Python, and Angular
- Ensure applications are secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with business needs
- Stay current on Power Platform, Azure, and AI technologies relevant to SMB analytics and automation
Power Platform
- Design and support model-driven and canvas Power Apps connected to SQL
- Develop Power Automate workflows for task and process automation
- Manage environments, permissions, and data connections
Custom Web & API Development
- Develop Angular front-end applications and Python (Flask/FastAPI) back-end services
- Design and document RESTful APIs for system integrations
- Implement secure authentication using OAuth2, JWT, and Azure Key Vault
- Apply clean code practices and version control using Git/Azure DevOps
Integration & Automation
- Build system integrations using APIs and ETL workflows
- Implement scheduled automation for reporting, alerts, and data synchronization
- Optimize performance across applications, pipelines, and data stores
Infrastructure & Project Coordination
- Serve as primary liaison with the third-party IT infrastructure provider
- Monitor infrastructure performance and ensure SLA compliance
- Coordinate system upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery planning
- Manage IT asset inventory and documentation
- Lead governance, planning, and iteration sessions
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field
Experience
- 5–10 years of progressive IT experience including data engineering, analytics, full-stack development, and foundational infrastructure knowledge
Core Skills
- SQL Server, Azure, Power BI, Power Apps, Python, Angular
- Data governance, cloud platforms, and business intelligence
- Application development project management
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- ITIL, PMP, or similar certifications preferred

- Advanced T-SQL, data modeling, and warehouse design

- Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3

- Azure services (Azure SQL, App Service, Functions, Blob Storage, Key Vault)

- Strong understanding of Finance, Operations, Sales, and HR workflows

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in SMB manufacturing or distribution environments
- Microsoft certifications (PL-300, PL-400, DP-203, AZ-204)
- CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), Docker, and containerization
- SSO and authentication integrations (Azure AD, Okta)
- Front-end UI frameworks and UX best practices
- Monitoring and logging tools (Application Insights, ELK)
- AI-assisted development tools and Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Experience with NetSuite, HubSpot, QuickBooks, Salesforce, or similar platforms
- Experience embedding Power BI into internal or client-facing portals
